Mission Statement

P – Prayer: To promote continuous prayer.

A – Action: To go beyond charity  and take peaceful actions to   right wrongs.

C – Compassion: To connect within and outside the boundaries of our parish.

E – Enlightenment:  To spread knowledge to all, characterized by our focus on the needs of others.

Goal

The Peace & Justice Committee’s goal is to educate the parish concerning social justice based on Catholic Social Teachings.  Members of this committee attempt to address social injustices within our community and in society at large.

Meetings

The committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month and all parishioners are welcome.  Members are asked to support and administer different outreach programs that the committee decides to undertake.

Actions & Programs

JustFaith—an educational and immersion process that is designed to help participants learn more about the Church’s social justice tradition.

Sharing Our Table of Plenty (STOP)—a program that sponsors needy organizations by collecting and donating specific items to help them continue their mission.  Every other month parishioners contribute to different needy causes.

Saturday Night at the Movies—a program that provides movies for parishioners providing background and education on social justice issues within the community and in society at large.

Speaker Series—a program that brings different speakers to the parish to present and discuss social justice issues that affect our lives today.
